file Breast milk not filling......Help

Congrats on your baby!

First off I just want to tell you babies nurse... And they nurse... And they nurse lots. Feeding every 2.5 - 3 hrs is really not bad at all! Both of mine nursed every 2 hours.

Expressing also does not show you how much milk is truly in your breasts, a baby gets more out of your breasts.

Is your baby gaining weight? Does he wet his nappies?

Unfortunately I cannot help you with the sore breasts :(

I have a 10 day old boy, from pregnancy I've wanted to exclusively breastfeed at least for the 5 months of my maternity leave. I just can't seem to get it right, it's either he's not latching and sucking properly, he just doesn't get full and always lwaves my breast sore. In my case I really don't think supply is responding to demand, he feeds every 2.5 to 3hrs. I've tried to express and feed him breast milk from the bottle, but even that doesn't satisfy. It doesn't help that I only get about 50ml of milk when expressing. Night time feeds are the worst. It's now almost 3am and we've been at it since midnight. My breast are on fire. Please help, I'm desperate enough to resort to supplementing with formula, which would you recommend. Or first what do I need to do to try get this breastfeeding right.?? HELP Please
