hi again mommies, yes totally agree with each of u! But the rooibos tea has been a Godsend for me (Riley was colic) so helped his tum brilliantly! Even though he wont drink water :( (would love him to) im not worried about the juice at all, but give rooibos once with his formula and his tum works so well so im happy to do the extra dirty work! Lol

I only added tea to the diets after 12 months, not for any specific reason, just cos that is how it worked out.

But juice was much earlier. I use any pure fruit juice and mix it as if I was mixing oros - so tiny bit of juice and fill up with water.

Both boys are happy to drink water and both still have very diluted juice.

I did have a bottle of cooled, boiled water in the fridge which I used for them til they were about 12 months and even now I use a water purifier for all our drinking water (I don't like the taste of Table View's water)

Duly noted! I am very into easy. My Mom keeps pressuring me about the tea though. Managed to put her off until the paed gave the go ahead. I wonder whether it would work to teach her that she only gets one bottle of tea/fruit juice a day. Otherwise it's water. I'm not a water drinker myself though.

Definitely Julz - I also never did it with my other kids and they had watered down juice and and and ... I really made my life difficult, when the easier solution was out of a tap infront of me.

Bless.

Reluctant mom it is just the best option. Dylan loves his milk and water now and it is cheaper and less fuss plus the sippy cups are easier to clean.

If you can stick to water try to.

Being a bit of a johnny-come-lately to the thread.

My daughter is 10 months and I was also quite keen on introducing juice and tea - watered down. My nanny just looked at me and said, I am just going to give her water, so I said "ok" - but want I meant was "as if that is going to work."

The result is my daughter now drinks milk or water - bless. I do not have to mix juices and cool down tea and worry about sugar in her mouth to rot her teeth.

So, what I am saying is if you are into easy - water - whether it is from the tap or out of the pre-boiled kettle is definitely an option that is easy, and works.

Thanks guys! That's a huge help. Going to the shop now to see what I can get for her. This is all rather exciting :-D
