2 year old dies after choking on a piece of apple

It is tragic, I am so sad for the family.

I do agree with Zodwa. He was 2½ - that is a fine age to be eating real food in their proper state (ie not mashed or peeled or grated). It could happen to anyone but heartbreakingly sad for this little boy and his family and friends.

It really is sad, but anybody can choke
I could choke on a piece of meat getting stuck in my throat & if nobody knows the heimlick maneouver I could die.

I think its important for us as parents to know CPR or 1st aid.

That makes me so sad to hear. I am so sorry for the Mom and Dad. I can't imagine loosing my babies.

I am also paranoid of my kids choking. Hence why I held back on finger food with my first born.
