BREASTFED BABY WON'T TAKE BOTTLE

Giggles,he took the bottle!!My mum gave him water mixed with gripewater yesterday,but he put his tongue like next to the teat.He drank some bietjie,bietjie.Later on I bf him a little then tried a formula bottle.He had the same reaction so I kept the teat in his mouth and I even put my mouth close 2 his and made sucking noises.Dont know if that did the trick but he began sucking.He took the bottle again 2day.U must see the way he smiles at me while drinking,so slyly...Just gave him 100ml then bf afterwards.I'm just worried that he'll start rejecting his boobies,its like our special time 2gether.

I am still trying the Pigeon bottle, still no luck.

Maybe I will also have to make use of the feeding cup, where do I get it from??

Giggles this may not be good news, but it sounds as if your LO is a bit like Ethan at that age and he only started drinking from a bottle when he was about 8 months!!!
I tried everything: every bottle under the sun, cheap to expensive, all the teats, rubber, synthetic. And it was defintely not the content, because he also refused breastmilk in a bottle. And he also to this day has never touched a dummy! No matter who tied to give him the bottle - he simply refused.
So we ended up using the tiny babycup to feed him expressed breast milk and then by the time I went to work the nanny would give him milk from a sippycup. A very slow and time-consuming process. By the time I came home he was ravenous! In the end my pead advised me to put him on solids at the age of 4mnths, to make sure he does not lose weight.

I have not tried formula, have been expressing milk only & she still spits it out, she doesn't even swallow the breastmilk.

Chrissie I also tried the NUK now I'm trying the Pigeon everyday, still no luck. please let me know if you come right..

This is what I know worked for me and for a lot of other Moms. Try over the weekend or when someone else is home for a while. I would let DH give DS a bottle and I would leave the room. I even left our house and went to the shop or park. That way my son could not smell me and I left for 3-4 hours so that him and his Daddy would battle it out. When he got hungry enough he did take the bottle. He would only drink 30ml's from the bottle in the beginning. I did however only introduce a bottle after 6 months and then it was only an occassional expressed bottle, so my case might be different.

I have the same problem and I'm going back 2 work in 2wks time.Tristen used 2 take the TT bottles but 2wks ago he just refused,rather played with the teat.Since u cant replace TT teat with another brand I bought a nuk bottle yesterday.That didn't go well either.Will keep on trying

i have the same problem.
I’ve been BF for 8 weeks now and she simply refuses a dummy and bottle! When she gets irritated she sucks on her little fists until they are red so I’ve tried to give her a dummy to suck on instead of her fists but she refuses, she thinks im playing with her when i try to insert her dummy.
i want to continue BF for as longs as i can but i want her to take a dummy just don't know how...
