Thanks all, feel better now. Justy realised that he is putting on weight, has lots of wet nappies and is much happier now than before he started solids.

As long as your baby is happy, gaining weight and having lots of wet nappies he/she is fine:) Some babies will self wean earlier than others, so dont stress!

I would not take any of his solid meals away. He is over 6 months and his solids need to start replacing his milk. It is quite normal for their milk need to decrease once solids are introduced fully.

I also have a 7 month old and he has 3 solid meals a day and drinks between 500mls and 570mls in a 24 hr period. I however bottle feed so it is a lot easier for me to measure.

I would say if he is thriving and has regular wet nappies then he is taking in enough milk daily.

Babies have a way of ensuring they get enough of everything. If he was not getting enough milk you would soon know.

I would speak with a la leche league consultant. This sounds like a weaning issue. I cant remember exactly, but I think it's only by around a year that food should be replacing milk feeds.
If you are worried, take some of his meals away.

Hi, my little boy is almost 7 months old and was exclusively breast fed until I started solids.

He now has cereal for breakfast and dinner and veg for lunch. Since he has started eating 3 meals a day, he drinks less milk and I feel that my supply is a lot less.

How do I know if he is getting enough milk? He refuses to drink from a bottle so I am a bit worried.
