Morning,my daughter turned 5 months on Saturday and she has been sleeping through the night since 3 months. Try adding 1tsp of rice cereal to her last evening bottel - I did this and it has been working like a bomb. I also use a bit of lavander oil in her bath..seems to calm her before bedtime. You could also try one of Sister Lilian's 'sleep remedies' that you can buy at pharmacies/Dis chem. It is all natural and is made up of tissue salts. My daughter also has reflux and the paed also prescribed NAN AR and Losec for the burning in the throat. Good Luck!!

Hi Claire!! Thank you so MUCH fore the advise really appreciate it. The whole time I felt that he was still too young fore sleep training but alot off mums told me you have start doing it when they are3 months old. I will try your suggestions.

Another thing where do one get those lovely borders or logos you put at the bottom off your page. I am really not good with computers? xx :cheer:

I cannot help with the reflux, however it is a bit young to start with sleep training. The earliest recommended age is 6 - 9 months. At 4 months he still needs the security of knowing you are around for him.

But you can start preparing him for sleep training by making "sleepy time associations". Get a sleepy time toy eg blankey, teddy, dummy taglet.
Wear it under your shirt, close to your skin so that it picks up your scent. Then get him to hold it (you may need to pop it under his arm in the beginning) while you feed him and rock to sleep.
You can also get a sleepy time routine in place eg. bath, bottle in darkened room, story / song/ rock and then bed.

My routine with both boys in the beginning was bath, bottle (sang to them while feeding - same song everynight), bottle out, then I would stroke cheek, saying "sleeping time darling" occassionally and sing the sleepy song until they were asleep.

Then with Liam I would wait until he was asleep and put him into bed, then after a week or 2, I would catch him just before he fell asleep (the breathing changes), then pop him in his cot.

I can now read his story and put him down wide awake - no crying was ever involved. Okay i tried sleep therapy with him, cos it worked a bomb with Brandon, but Liam would projectile vomit. This system did it for us and was my lifesaver - started just before he turned 12 months and within 4 months we had it waxed.

Hi Lizzie. My baby is also 4 months and also suffers with reflux. We have her on NAN AR and Losec which the paed prescribed. It seems to be working quite well. I would suggest taking LO to the paed. Shame man. Lack of sleep sucks.

Hi mommies!!My goodness how does this text thing work I can`t seem to get the space right!! My baby is 4months old and I have him on Nan HA and Nestargel at the moment but as you all know we can`t get hold of any Nestargel at the moment. Can it be that the formula makes the refluks worse? And what formula is the best to use fore refluks problems. It also affects his sleep. Then another thing this sleep training thing I can`t seem to get the hang off it. When I put him down he moans and cries till I pick him up and then we battle to fall asleep. Try giving him a dummy spits it out then have to put it back again. Try letting him suck on his hands or something but it doesn`t work.I really don`t know anymore must I just let him cry?? We are all sleep deprived!! Thanx fore all your advise.
