Hi Stef

Just wondering how Kingsbury worked out for you? I am trying to decide on a hospital in the CT area for c-sec and would love to hear your story.

Oh yes, forgot to mention..

Hubby and I went for the maternity tour today, at Kingsbury hospital.
I loved it! Found my hospital!! What a warm atmosphere and the general impression I got was that they are super organised.. Which obviously I loved!!!
The sister also said they have plenty of caesar patients and therefore they have a special ward just for them because they need more intensive nursing.. I guess I just felt at ease after the tour and there's no doubt in my mind that this is the one! :D

I have an appointment with Dr.Zinn nexr week at Kingsbury.. Looking forward to that also.

Will post an update here after that.
Thanks so much ladies for the suggestions, I so appreciate it <3

Hey Nicolette.

Thanks, but I will much rather drive to a hospital that is better suited to my needs than just take the closest option. I am not at all concerned if friends and family must drive a few km's to visit as the few days that i will be in hospital are about me and the baby, not so much my friends and family :)

My personal choice would be to chose a hospital close to home. That way friends and family are nearby for visits, and you don't have a long drive home after discharge!

Hi Stef,

I was in the same situation searching for a pro ceaser doctor and hospital. And I finally found what I was looking for with Dr Johan Van Heerden at Milnerton Medi Clinic. He totally supported me with my choices and I really had a great experience with the hospital and the staff. Good luck in finding what you are looking for!

Thanks for the reply Joybaby,

yes I was considering sticking with Blaauwberg hospital but I really wanted a male gynae because I had quite a bad experience with a woman gynae.
Also heard very good things about Dr.Victor :)

I have made an appointment with Dr. Zinn at Kingsbury hospital in Claremont for the 29th Feb. Also going for a tour at their maternity ward on Wednesday.

Hope this is the one :)

I gave birth via c/sec at Panorama MediClinic which isn't too far from you.
I never had any issues from the staff at all.
I used Dr. Rosselli who has rooms across the road from the hospital. I dont really know the other gynae's in the area though.

I would like to try VBAC next time round but would be comfortable with both natural or c/sec at Panorama Hospital.

You're also close to Cape Town MediClinic or there's also Durbanville MC.
Why dont you stick to Netcare Blaauwberg and just change gynae's???
I've heard that Dr Tania Victor is really amazing. Just double checking with another moomie mom what her experience with this doctor was.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.
