i have found gyaena at sandton medi clinic that is working Genesis as i am planning to give birth there, so most of my check-up i am seeing midwife and nextweek i am going to see gyaena for my 36 wks check-up, from there will be seeing idwife until birth! unless there is complication then the gyaena will be on standby.

i would like to find out if everything is going well and if you found a gynea that is vbac friendly, i will be having a vba2c and is using a midwife with one of the Gyneas from Linkwood hospital i am due in August

thanks, hansie. i was on the telephone the whole morning trying to find information about genesis so tomorrow going to see dr for authorisation for me to see gyaena, and hopefully everything will be okay.

Welcome to moomie and congratulations on your pregnancy!! You are right, a natural birth is very possible after a c-section and your gyni sounds like someone who just wants to do c-sections as cord around neck is usually not an indication for a c-section.

If I where you, I would get a new care provider asap!! Here is a link to Genesis clinic in Saxonworld Jhb, on their website you will find a list of private midwifes who practises at Genesis and who would be able to help you with doing a VBAC.

Hi, i am 21wks pregnant, and had a previous pregnant by emergency c-section, reason being that they said the cord was around her neck. i was dissapointed, and i want natural birth, but my gyaena said no, she told me that in private hospital they not allow them to do if the first or previous pregnancy you went for c-section you will have all you babie by it.

i was doing research and come across positive comment about my choice, but the problem is where do i start to find gyaena that will work with me through this. please help or recommend gyaena or midwife, around JHB more and special Bedfordview and sandton.
