Hi Hasie,
I planned to have my birth at Femina but I feel unsure at present as my Gynea has been really unfriendly during the last 2 visits.
I tried to get a list of the female gyneas at Femina but can't get a proper list anywhere.
Do you know who the female gynaes are?
I want to give birth with the help of the midwives from Midwives Exclusive.
Hope you can help.

Thanks Hasie. My Cousin was induced at EM last week and she was 'rushed' for a c-section after it took too long. So I was defenitly considering Femina after hearing that.
I really like the option of having a midwife as primary caregiver. But I suppose it all depends of what type of pregnancy I will have. So back to some BD till then! :)
I appreciate all the input and hope it helps someone else who needs this info too.

Hallo! I'm not a midwife, just a doula... But I have attended births at both EM and Femina.

I am sorry to say but I would NOT recommend EM at all if you are wanting to have a natural birth. I was told by the maternity staff recently at a birth, that they don't do natural births. They do inductions (and according to her the success rate is virtually zero) and they do c-secs. So in terms of support with a natural birth, you are not going to get it...

Femina i can definitely recommend. But even better is to have a gyni at femina and use the midwifes from midwives-exclusive as primary providers for pregnancy and birth. You can use either the active birth unit in Femina or the midwife's birth house for the birth. Both are excellent options.

All the best with the TTC... Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

You wont be disappointed in Femina. Do yourself a favour and take a tour of the hospital...

All the best hey!

Hi there

Had both my kids at Femina! Its an awesome hospital with wonderful doctors and caring nursing staff! Have a look at the VBAC thread - Hasie is a midwife and she'll tell you all about the benefits of having your kids there!

Are you pregnant?
