Midwife & possible home birth in Pretoria East

Making a well informed decision, and being a participant in the decision is key to having a good birth experience for you and baby. So glad you have looked at all the options, talked it over with people you respect and done some more research. Thank you so much for the replies!! After many many hours of consultation with midwife (Thanks Hasie - I went to see Erna at midwives-exclusive) - Femina and my Gynea - they all confirmed that because I'm 41 already, had a c-section before - the risk will be just too much.. There is also some serious scar tissue still on my prev cut - so we have decided not to take the risk!

Wish circumstances was different though... Good luck to everyone else!!

They are in Pretoria and the head midwive Heather Pieterse has a passion for VBACs. They are excellent midwives and do home births, birth centre births (at their own birth centre in Rietondale) and births at Femina Clinic's active birth unit.

If you need the help of a doula, I am in Pretoria East and would be more than willing to meet with you and see if we get on.

I also teach HypnoBirthing, which is a wonderful option for VBAC preparation.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Try communicating with Hasie on the VBAC topic, she's well clued up when it comes to midwifes and i think she's a doula as well. Wishing you all the luck

I am 29 weeks now and hubby & me are seriously considering an HBAC / VBAC after my c-section 3 yrs ago.. DOes anyone know of a midwife and/or doula that can possibly assist us with this or give us some proper advise?
