Gynae that delivers at Pretoria East Hospital?

I am looking at having a normal birth. However I have been to Femina and for some reason I just do not feel comfortable with the hospital. I spoke to my current gynae and mentioned that I must make sure that I am comfortable at the hospital that I give birth at. My current gynae does not deliver and thus I have to find a doctor that does deliver and choose a hospital.

I am not really sure how to go about everything, this is my first time. I really do not want to be forced into a c-section. Thank you for the information. At least now I know.

I always have my current gynae to fall back on for a second opinion should the new one I got to insist that I have a c-section.

Do you perhaps know of any other good hospitals in the Pretoria / Centurion area?

I birthed at that hospital but with another gyni. It is really important to first decide whether you want a natural birth or c-section. The natural birth rate at both those hospitals are really really low. I would say you would have around 10% chance of having a normal birth at either of those hospitals if you just go with the flow (wait to see what gyni says, take their birth prep classes etc.)

And there are some gynies at that first hospital who lies to their patients about things that would actually qualify as terribly unethical if those parents wanted to sue their doctors, they would make millions. This specific person misused the patient's trust to lead her to a c-section that really really wasn't needed. He actually lied to her, saying that there was something wrong with her baby while there was NO PROBLEM.

So I'm very very negative about that hospital and the doctors associated with it. Unless off course you want a c-section. Then that would be a brilliant place to birth...

I just want to gather information before I decide on a hospital and a gynae to deliver. Does anyone know of a good female gynae that delivers at Pretoria East Hospital? As well as if the gynae is open on a saturday? I checked the Pretoria East Hospital website and got the following doctors:

- Dr K Fourie
- Dr M Kleynhans
- Dr Dehandschutter

Has anyone been to any of these doctors before? What was your experience? Also if you delivered at Pta East Hospital would you recommend it? Also if you know Unitas vs Pta East?
