Paying the midwife first than claiming back is really not bad.

Goggatjies, who was your midwife? and how did you choose them?

I am also with momentum, and they will pay for the midwife in full, as they would pay for a doctor.

The only thing with a midwife is, you have to pay her cash, and then claim back after the baby was born

They will also pay Genesis in full.

You will not go worng. Genesis is great. My midwife group was excellent, had both my kids with them, and they are great. My eldest I had at Linkwood (genesis was not open yet)

Go to the open day, ask lots of questions

I'm currently with Momentum and I know they cover Genesis, just not sure with regards to the mid wives.

I had my girl at Genesis. And had no issues with booking in. If you go to a private midwife, they do help.

Price was the same as any other private hospital.

Genesis was great. Service was the best, you can not go wrong.

I would say Genesis all the way - had my first there in 2010, and going back for seconds

Too be quite honest, I didn't experience any issues with booking there at all - I just booked my bed by 36 weeks (not 4 months), AND I stayed there 3 days and not once did it seems as if they were full...

Also, from what I've heard, they have recently added new recovery rooms to increase capacity in case of issues.

They have an open day this Saturday (31 Aug 10am-2pm) I suggest you go and have a look and talk to them yourself.

Also, as for the costs - they actually worked out same/cheaper than some private hospitals, and my medical aid paid everything in full (Discovery)

I must say Genesis is very expensive to give birth and it very difficult to book on. cos they always fully book.. you must phone Genesis and find out and you must book bed like 4 months advance to this cos Genesis is very limit...

my friend tried to book with them and no luck. it sad..

Has anyone been to Brenthurst Clinic or Genesis, I would like to know what your experiences were??

I am 28 weeks and my gynae is at Parklane, but medical aid does not cover the hospital only the gynae
