Doctors were good. Nurses were ok. Food was good. Breastfeeding advice not so good, they were very quick to give my daughter formula. When I was there the first night babies have to sleep in nursery, I was caught by surprise as I thought they did rooming in. They also gave my daughter formula throughout the first night without my permission (and without coming through to try nursing first). Personally I did not enjoy my stay there, but other than myself I never heard complaints about the hospital. This was back in 2011.
I am officially registered etc to give birth at Fourways Life hospital and was wondering if anyone could share any advice? What was your experience at Fourways Life like? Were there any unexpected payments/bills? Any specific doctors such as paediatricians to use or avoid?
