I was also with Dr Searle, fell in love! Haha, Dr Dumbrill is also very good, I have two friends who are with him and very happy. Dr Richardson is also a good option.

I had my vbac at Vincent, didn't experience the staff much as they hardly came close to me, they knew I was with a private midwife, took me to the labour ward and left me. One walked in at some point and Angela removed her and told her to get some manners and knock, quietly. I had A the morning and was discharged the afternoon.

thnx Justine! iv heard abt Jackie Searle,im with dr lynette jansen and she is EXTREMLY busy, she doesn't just take on any patients and to begin with she didn't want to take me on with my first child until I found out my aunt knows her personally, she charges 700 per consultation and her visits last ten min max its literally just in n out she doesn't even weigh me! with my first child I was so happy that she took me on me n my hubby were so grateful to her and we were as u can say ''verlee''! but with this pregnancy its like she is too used to me now and just wants to get rid of me and acts like she's doing me a favour when in actual fact we are paying her a small fortune! im so fed up with being ill treated the last time I saw her I left there crying all the way home in the car cz thts how nasty she is! iv never been to a male gynae before and the females are the ones who are always so busy cz everyone wants a female1 have you heard of dr dumbrill?

its never a bad thing to get a second opinion on your options. However be aware that good gynaes are very busy, so you'd probably have to make a special plea to be 'fitted into' someone's schedule.

Ive had two babies (natural births) at Vincent Pallotti, and like you, live in the southern suburbs. Dr Jackie Searle is my back-up gynae and I absolutely would recommend her to everyone. She is fantastic. Unhurried, professional, sympathetic and (best of all) will support private midwifes. See, for both birth's (and pregnancies) I hired a private midwife (Glynnis/ Ciska from Birth Options in Plumstead) and only saw Jackie for a couple of scans just to make sure that it was safe to go the natural route.

I found the level of care at Vincent Palotti variable- great nursery staff, great help for breastfeeding, but general ward staff (and partcularly the night nurses) were a mixed bunch. some good, some awful. All in all though I like Vincent Palotti in general and hopefully in a few weeks I'll have another happy story to report from there!

I def do not want to have a Caesar bt with my first bby I had natural and my gynae actually forcd me fr natural bt n ow she makes up diseases and thngs and lies just so she can give me a Caesar,i live in the southern suburbs so it would either be between kingsbury Vincent p or constantiberg bt iv steered away from Constantiaberg as my previous gynae ther was a lesbian and tht explained y she actd so strange towards me

All I know is Kingsbury is knows as Caesar's Palace as they have the highest rate of c-sections out of all the hospitals, so if you want to even attempt a vaginal birth I strongly recommend choosing a different hospital. If you're happy for another caesar then either one (I haven't been to either so not sure which is "better" so to speak).

im just wondering if anyone could advise me which hospital is better to give birth at between kingsbury and vincnt palotti, I have given birth at kingsbury 2 years ago and was happy with everything but now I changed gynaes because my gynae lied to me and said I need to have a Caesar were as 6 other gynaes told me she is talkn bull and just wants to get me outv her hair since im due in December and its festive season, this is a big decision for me and my husband so is there anyone who has given birth at Vincent palotti or had a good experience ther? I really need advice on this as time is running out
