Hi Stacey

I can only offer you a little info, but I guess its better than nothing. :)

I gave birth at Panorama Medi-clinic 2 years ago and it was classified as emergency c-section (which ups the costs a bit).

4 days / 3 nights in hospital: R20,000 (R600 per night extra for private room)
Gynae: R7200
Anesthesiologist: R3400
Pediatrician: R1800

I don't recall other costs, but maybe I forgot a really small item. I'm on a Discovery Classic plan and they paid all except the private room extra fees.

All the best for the journey laying ahead of you!

I would really appreciate a breakdown of the cost of giving birth in Cape Towb across different hospitals/ clinics. I am particularly interested in a natural birth with epidural, but please feel free to add any other costs you paid for your Cape Town birth. At the moment I just can't seem to get a straight answer.

Thanks very much
