I am new to Moomie. I am not yet pregnant but soon to start trying. My husband and I are stuck as to whether or not to switch to full medical aid from hospital plan in preparation for a pregnancy and birth.
It's not so much a matter of affordability as it is a question of value. We can pay for the scans and gynae visits etc and from research with a hospital plan we would probably come out pretty even. My concern is if something unforseen happens in the pregnancy or birth and our baby needs extra care. Is this all (NICU, anything else I may not know about not being a mum yet) covered by hospital plan or would you really recommend going onto a more comprehensive cover.
We have friends that have different opinions but I wanted to get a few more if people have specific experience. We are on discovery if that is of any relevance.
