Clinton Hospital Alberton

I know its an old post but thought I would just post anyways as I gave birth at Clinton hospital with my 2nd baby.
I really likes the staff there ,they are not rude like some of the nurses are.
My stay there was pleasant.
My Gynae was also Dr moodley , she is excellent.
She was also pregnant at the time and had to come in a week after her birth to do my C-SEC as I did not want another Gyane doing it for m.
I also chose my own date as she was doing births on the 25th January but my sister is born on that day and I wanted baby to have her own special day so I opt for the 26th and she came on both days.
But I had a bad experience took my baby there at 1month she had a viral infection.They did not administrate the drip properly and the meds were going under her skin not in her veins.
My poor baby suffered and has a scar on her hand as they skin was eaten away and had a hole in her hand.
I was very upset and angry and took it further with lawyers,but then It had to be taken to high court and I was not prepared to go up and down to court with a small baby......I regret it now as my child still has an ugly scar.
I would prefer Mulbarton for kiddies that are sick.

I'm not too sure what you really want to know but my colleague has had natural twice there. She said the staff and security is brilliant, she was in a semi private room and had a young girl with her who the nurses helped really well as it was her first.

All I can suggest is what I did at Mulbarton was to request a walk through of the maternity ward and labour ward. What she explained regarding Clinton Clinic is exactly what I experienced at Mulbarton. Ill definitely be going back to Mulbarton second time round I can't say either one is good or bad as I really only know about Mulbarton but in the end all I can suggest is take a look for yourself and ask all the questions you want.

Is your gynae Dr Moodley (I think that's her name). I've heard she is brilliant and is pro natural.

It's really your choice in the end if you want natural or C-section. Most people are just afraid of natural I think. Most believe your vagina isnt the same again after natural and your sex life dwindles which I can tell you is not the case. I am fully pro natural, I had an absolute fear of the thought of not being able to move my feet as in a c-section and thus my reason for natural - kind of stupid lol although I was fully prepared that anything can happen and a c-section is the only option.

I think there is a thread on here with the debate, see what other people's experiences are and go with your gut. Good Luck!

Thanks Lauz, yes the gynea is at the clinton. She did ask if i wanted natural, but so far every one i have spoken to says they love doing c sec and it concerns me!

I have a colleague who gave birth there, natural as her Gynae is there. I can find out her experiences and will get back to you. I had natural at Mulbarton hospital and the staff were amazing, from date of being admitted to putting our Angel in the car.
