The maternity hospital in Panorama is called Origin Maternity Hospital (you can find them on facebook). They are aiming to be open in Nov 2015-dont know what they will be offering though.

Good luck with finding the right mid-wife for you :)

Sorry for the delayed response!

I also live in the Northern Suburbs, and there are no birthing homes on this side :(.

Apparently, a birthing unit should open at Panorama Medi-Clinic soon (I hope), but it may be too late for us to birth there. The only options are a home-birth with a midwife, or to go to the Al Nisa centre in Rondebosch - like you mentioned.

Have you tried Nicolene Laubscher? She does home births on the Dubanville, Brackenfell, Kuilsriver side - 083 256 7898
jnlaubscher@telkomsa.net

And Angela Wakeford is happy to follow you up as well, and it doesnt matter where you stay as long as you deliver at Vincent Palotti - 021 761 9623
wakefordaj@gmail.com

Marijke van der Merwe is another option. Also only does homebirths on the Northern Suburbs side.
Cell:0726732743
Email: merwe.marijke@gmail.com

Hope that helps! And please dont panic, there will be an option for you!

Hello Carmi, I am with Marianne, she is fantastic. There are also other midwives which you can consult, I used the Birth Options website to assist

www.capemidwives.co.za

www.birthoptions.co.za

There are so many midwives practising in the Southern Suburbs. Marianne also has her own little birthing home in Muizenberg. I wish you the best of luck, and no need to be anxious, you will find a lovely midwife to take care of you!
