I think one needs to be highly motivated to have a natural birth and from the start of your pregnancy have caregivers who has A HIGH NATURAL BIRTH RATE. I can save you a lot of drama at the end of your pregnancy and tell you now that most doctors "say" that they are open to a natural birth but at the end find some reason to do a c-section. Obviously there are cases where c-sections are needed and life saving but currently Doctors in South africa reckons we NEED c-sections in around 75 - 90% of the time (especially private hospitals). Absolutely not possible. Therefore if your care provider cannot provide you with figures of successful natural births in their practice, I would suggest you move on to someone else.
Perhaps you can share where you are from so that other moms can share suggestions of caretakers in your area.
I think the midwife route might be your best option.
