I did an IUI nov last year.

Yes, it is Clomid/whatever med u taking day 5-9 and then my gynae checked me on day 12. I had to go in with a full bladder, as apparently it helps him see the growth/measurement of the follicles better. My bladder was SO full, I could barely move and if he pressed to hard, I would twinge (about to wet my pants) So he told me to go empty it!

When you go on D-day, u bring the washed sperm sample from the clinic/pathologist with you (keep it warm... i put it in my bra while driving)

the procedure itself is alot like a papsmear.. they basically just "inject" the sperm right next to your tubes, so they dont have far to swim. Then u lie there for about 30-40min, giving a swimmers a chance to swim and keeping gravity abay... from there you can go. So i'd say about an hour in total?

I got my mom to drive me home... sometimes you get pain (almost like menstrual pain) and I bled a little afterwards, but its not too much to be concerned about apparently.

I dont know much about this but try the afrikaans thread in trying to concieve section the heading is. There are a few english ladies their as well. just this month one of the women did IUI so I am sure she will be able to tell more about it. There are also a few that have done IVF.

So it looks like we are doing AI this month. As far as I know it is clomid day 5-9, follical scan on day 12, ovridrel on day 15 and AI 24h later?

How does this work? Do I just rock up on day 16 with dh's sperm in a cup and they turkey baste it up my vajayjay or what? Someone told me I must go with a full bladder. Is this true? Also how long does the whole procedure take as I will need to org a sitter.

I will of course chat to my gynae but would love some input from others...
