Thank you for your love and care. Preeclampsia to kinda hit me out of the blue. I was having a beautiful and relatively uneventful pregnancy. If I think back, I started urinating less, retaining water more, and having a consistent pain between between my shoulder blades that made it hard sometimes to breathe. Nausea hit me hard in those in the last days as well. My gynae said that your chances of getting it in your second pregnancy is halved by 50% yay for that!!!!

hi Jannet- thanks for sharing your story. I am so sorry for your loss and i pray that yuo get a sticky bean this cycle. I on the other hand had eclampsia, so i spent the first month after c-sect in ICU. By God's grace i survived and have never been hospitalised afterwards. Now we are ttcing for no2, and deep down i wonder if it wont happen again..so yaa its nice to hear from someone who has experienced it as well, maybe we can get through this journey together. If yuo dont mind, please share how you picked it up, and if you felt any symptoms leading to the discovery of it.

@Morgan.. sorry for hijacking your post. *hides**. I am so excited for you dear, and we gotta keep the faith that the first IUI is going to work. I'm so sorry for your loss. Really, I don't understand how things like that happen. I really am sorry.

Thank you so very much for sharing. It has put some things into perspective for me. I also think that should this IUI not be successful first time round we'll also do IVF. Like you said, to stop wasting money and also to take the pressure off!

Seems like beginning March is a very busy month for the both of us! I hope you get a BFP on the 4th and that all will be well.

I'll also definitly reach out to you should I need to vent. Please feel free to do the same.

We were married in Dec 2011 and conceived our daughter, Willow, without much effort 5 months later. I developed preeclampsia in my third trimester and delivered her just before 32 weeks. Willow was very underweight due to my high blood pressure, but progressed well for a month in the NICU. Unfortunately, Willow got sick and never recovered. She passed on when she was 6 weeks old. The following months were traumatic for all of us, but we have journeyed a rocky road and are stronger for it.
Because it was so easy to conceive Willow, we didn't expect any difficulties getting preggie again - not so!! The next year was a year of trying EVERYTHING and nothing working-and sobbing every time I started my period!! I must've driven my beautiful husband mad!!
Eventually, we went to a fertility specialist, and after what seemed like forever, I was diagnosed with having a unicornate uterus. I have 2 fully functional ovaries, 2 fallopian tubes, but only 1 is attached to my uterus....and it got blocked after my c-section with Willow. So, there was nothing I could've done in the natural to get pregnant. Even natural remedies didn't and wouldn't work. It was a bit of a relief finding out, because you eventually start thinking it's all in your head and you'll never get over it all!
So, after trying 1more IUI, we decided to stop wasting money and just do IVF. Takes all the pressure off, you know?
They did egg retrieval last Friday and got 11 eggs of which 10 were viable. We froze 6 and fertilised 4. Of the 4 we fertilised, 3 grew properly and one just stopped after 4 days. They implanted 1 this last Monday, as it's too dangerous implanting more due to my uterus being smaller. We can't run the risk of multiples. Now it's the waiting game to see if our little baba has hooked up well we do a test on 4 march time is dragging!!!
So, there you have it! As you can see, a looong story! Lol!
I wish you so much luck and favour during your journeying, and I pray that we both have our arms full by this time next year

Thanks for the reply! It really is appreciated!

Hubby and I are going for our first IUI in the begining of March!! I have to start drinking femara tomorrow (CD5) and have gynae appointment on 2 March to check for eggs and trigger shot then on 4 March, IUI procedure.

I'd be really greatful if you'd share your story. I'm keeping positive that this IUI will work first time round but should it not then I think we're going straight to IVF.

Ah well, sometimes Mother Nature needs a bit of help in getting the work done so.... IUI and IVF are here to help!
