Thank you @StellaK

My MC seemed to be dragging out (bleeding, and some pain)-thus the suggestion from the gynea for the D&C.

I have spoken to a couple of woman who have MCs early on. Am amazed by how much more common it is, and how many woman dont even realise it!
The only common thread - your periods are a bit hectic thereafter.

Am so glad that you fell pregnant quickly after, I really hope it happens likewise with me.
I have decided to put no pressure, and it will happen when its meant to happen. but that is easier said than done.... end up worrying about anything that seems abit out of the norm and now I don't know whats normal or not

ji Maj,

firstly, so sorry about your loss. big hyg to you.

after my MC i bled for about 4 weeks, then 2 days later had my period. when that was done we started to have sex again.

i only had pain and discomfort for the first 3 days after MC.

my period was absolutely haywire there after and i got pregnant 3 months later without having a period in 3 months.

think this will be very different for each woman as our bodies react so differently.
i have read that you are very fertile after a MC

i did not have the D&C, miscarried normally at home, gynie told me to only wait 1 cycle to start TTC again

Hi Ladies.

I know this is an old post, but hoping you ladies can give me some advise.

Found out Im pregnant on Monday. That weekend I started bleeding, went to the Dr on the Monday, she did a scan and said things do not look right, and it looks like a miscarriage. Did the bloods, etc, confirmed on the Thursday, and had a D&C on the next Monday (so now I dont like Mondays!!)

I think I took it pretty well, and Im holding up ok. Was a bit of a shock in that our first baby within a week or 2 after stopping the pill, and everything went exceptionally well.
TTC the 2nd time took alot longer!

Anyway i dont like my gynea and will definitely be changing. So I did not ask the necessary questions. How long till my periods arrive (thanks to this post, Ill give it a good couple of weeks before I start worrying)

But how long till we can start trying. I read through some other posts saying some Dr's recommend 1 cycle, others 3 months, etc. But do you go back on birth control for this time? Abstain ( )? Use condoms? I feel so ignorant asking this!

How long after the miscarriage/D&C before you had sex again?
Any cramping? Pain? Everything feel normal?

Thanks ladies :)

Hi Dinky,

thank you so much for your story and the encouragement. so glad that you fell pregnant so soon.

I did not have a D&C. dr gave me a set of pills to get the MC started, but then it was all natural. 2 weeks later I went for a follow up and dr was pleased that everything passed, but I was bleeding for another 3 weeks after that.

Should this happen again (and i truly hope that it doesn't) i will rather do the D&C, naturally was very traumatic for me.

it wil always be very sad, but I think I'am ok now. I just want to move on now and I really hope that I can also fall pregnant again soon

hope you will have a lovely day

Hi Stella,

Firstly - BIG HUGS xxx today marks 2 years since my MC.

Did you have a D&C or did you miscarry naturally?

I waited 6 weeks from when the bleeding stopped and still had no sign of AF. Called the doc and she gave me some tabs to induce a bleed.

I fell pg 3 month after my D&C and my precious girl is now almost a year old!

We were also told to wait for at least one cycle.

Remember though that emotionally it takes time to heal. I spotted for the first 10 weeks of my pregnancy and I remember sobbing and telling DH that I couldn't go through that again! Luckily all ended well.

MC 22 June 2011
