Simone C, I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you! All I can say is that I can sympathise with you. I had an ectopic pregnancy years ago and ended up with emergency surgery and a blood transfusion. I would really recommend that you consider going for "debriefing" with a therapist. It was a life threatening situation and it is something that needs to be worked through in my opinion. The emotional healing took quite a while for me, so be kind and gentle on yourself and allow all feelings to surface.

Thinking of you and I am glad to hear you are okay! xx

Shame that really does sound a horrible ordeal to go through!

Will go read up a bit about molar pregnancies. I've heard the term but don't really know what it is.

I really hope everything is now sorted for you.
Big hugs and so sorry for your loss xx

I mainly just wanted to share so other ladies could be aware of this. I have only found forums online where posts were done in 2007.... This was the first time I had ever heard of a molar pregnancy.

I am feeling okay.... nervous, just hoping it wont reoccur at this stage....so just waiting for check up so I can be sure that this is truly behind me.

Have disconnected myself. According to articles, this was never going to be a viable pregnancy...so I feel 'better' knowing I didn't have a baby die...if that makes sense? I refer to it as a pregnancy I lost...not a baby....I think in a way that gives me some peace.

Hi Simone

I read through your first post first...I had no idea what a molar pregnancy is! I haven't read through the link, but your story is really hectic (and scary). Thankfully your mom suggested you go see the gynae!

How are you feeling now?

Good luck with your next appointment!

So evidently nobody has had a molar pregnancy as I see 30 views and no comments....so thought I would share my story with you all. Be warned it is a bit graphic....

I found out on 12 September I was pregnant with our 3rd baby. Was a bit surprised as we had only decided 3 days prior that we wanted to try for number 3.

I was about 5 weeks they guessed and scheduled my appointment for 10th October which put me at about 10-11 weeks. I was a bit bummed to have to wait so long. Once I remembered my LMP I called the gynae's office to ask for a closer date as they said ideally I should come between 7 and 8 weeks..but no earlier appointment... anyways...waited it out. MS started around 8 weeks and for 2 weeks I had it bad...my stomach felt quite bloated! Then at 10 weeks it stopped. I got a bit nervous...checked if my boobs were still sore (they weren't)...but I had no other symptoms to suggest I needed to worry.

Very excited on the day of the scan....did an external scan and then doctor asked me what I said my lmp was...and then the face changed and he said he wasn't happy with what he saw. Turns out the sac was there...showing at 10 odd weeks...but no baby in sight. He said it was probably a blighted ovum.

To say I was devestated is an understatment:( Had the d&c the same day. Went home....and mourned the loss of the baby I had been imagining for a month...

1 day before my 2 week mark of the procedure I was training and I felt i was bleeding heavily. Sat on a towel to rest and when I got up I saw blood. I didn't get too alarmed yet as I thought...maybe it's normal. I went to shower after my session and found chucks of blood in my tights.

Showered, changed pad and off I went to work at 8:30am. At 10am I went ot the loo and my pad and panty were soaked. Trouble as I had no panties at work.... sent my boss an email asking if I could go home. He replied just before 1...i finished up my work....and then left at 1pm. Walking to the car...I just felt the blood and huge clots coming down. Sat on a towel and drove home.

Still not feeling alarmed...I then found myself changing my pad and panty every 30min to an hour. The next morning I got dressed for work and by the time I wanted to leave...was soaked. My mom told me I needed to go to the doc. On the way to my gynae I'm thinking...this man is going to think I am such a drama queen!

In his waiting area...I feel the need to go to the loo...and then there was no stopping it...no need for a pad or panty. It just ran down my legs, into my shoes... doc saw me immediately. Did a scan and he saw a mass there... and I had to be admitted.

In the time I was taken to the ward and offered a shower I had not been able to go to the loo...my vajayjay was basically jammed shut with pieces...chunks of blood clots. I didn't know how I was going to get it out...and eventually had to pretend I was giving birth and freakin push it out.

Was in a lot of pain...and 2 pethidine shots later then couldn't make me wait 3 more hours for surgery....they took me to theatre. When I came to the nurse told me I had lost a lot of blood. I thought weird for them to tell me that as I open my eyes...

Doc came later...face very worried looking...and told me same thing and said I would have to stay overnight. The next morning he considered blood transfusion as my levels were according to him very low....but we settled on iron treatment in the end.

This is when he said he thinks this was a molar pregnancy. He said that if he didn;t get it all out, this thing would regrow!!! But he said he was confident he got it all...

Have check up on the 21st of November. I am hoping the tests results are all good as now I read about cancer and some disease.... was an awful ordeal. I also read I should wait 6-12m to TTC again....but if that is the case we will be closing the door on baby number 3 as I am too old (for me) to wait a year to have another baby.

Horrible realising the baby I imagined for a month basically never existed....then thinking I lost a baby...and then bleeding so much I thought I was going to die... It's been a lot to deal with.

If anybody is wanting the specifics on what this molar pregnancy is...I shared a link in the previous post.
