Anthea: Ruan is also on the nebulizer from last night for the second time since he was born! How are your two using it, are they calm? My doc recommended that I do it before he feeds to avoid him throwing up if he coughs but he screams bloody murder if I try and do it when hes hungry.

He has been on formula since about 6 weeks old, because he wouldn't latch onto the breast no matter what we tried and I was expressing 3-4 times a day, which was not only very painful but very time consuming even with an electric double pump...I also didn't have a huge amount. I really wanted to breast feed, and felt like such a failure when I couldn't, so I really hope that all comes right for you.

If I may ask, what is nexiam? My little one was doing fine sleeping through the night when we were feeding him Novalac AR Digest (really bad reflux so used this under pead's advise) but since he started eating baby cereal, I took him off it (really, really expensive and only in small tins!!) to Novalac AC, which is much thinner in texture but he seems to be keeping it down ok. Only problem is, now he is back to waking up every 4 hours hungry, so we are back to sleepless nights - could it be the milk not filling him? He eats about 3 spoons of cereal in the morning, afternoon and evening..really thought that would fill him for longer?

I feeel your pain on leaving them hey... i started letting the anny do more things with her a month before i started work and she is now so comfy with the nanny... Although the nanny has been around since birth... She also cried in the beginning but now happily goes to her! Just hang in there - it does get easier...

Also worked half day last week to make the transition easier... But it was more for me than her i think - she was perfectly fine hey... I was supposed to work half day this week but decided to work full day - never know when i might need the leave...

Tazzy - once you have attached the file / pic you can then choose to "insert" into the text... the "insert" button activates once you have attached it... then just choose where in the text you would like to insert the pic...

As for adding a pic - on the right hand side of the page at the top is a "User Menu" and under that "Your details" - you add the pic there!

So glad Connor's reflux is sorted - its terrible for them. Morgan's still takes half a sachet morning and night... we only started the night one last week after discussing with the paed that she only wants to sleep in the arms... Its because of the comfort on their tummies... since we introduced the night nexiam she sleeps much better in the day...

And yes - she's been sleeping through since 2months... its bliss! Never wake a baby to feed... and perhaps the introduction of solids will help him sleep longer

Good luck with the expressing... Our paed said we can start solids, as she wasnt sleeping through anymore - she was waking at 4 for a feed. And she has good head control...

Where did you hear that about the Bumbo? We used it with Tristyn and she was sitting by herself at 5months... it strengthens their neck and back muscles... we use it for a few minutes every day...

We dont use a walking ring or a jolly jumper. Have heard thats bad for their joints and development too... In Canada walking rings are totally banned... they are just too dangerous according to Canadian law... To each their own hey...

Hi All

So Im back @ work so will be online more... yesterday was the most awful day! i felt like I left my heart @ home - I hated it and I only worked half day! Connor also cried all morning, the nanny said he cried when he had to eat/sleep etc when I got home @ lunch time he was so happy all day!! Breaks my heart! Today it was a little easier leaving so Im hoping it gets easier and easier! I feel so guilty!

Im sorry to hear about the BF, how horrible is the rejection? I perservered with expressing and much to my delight he is back on the boob after a month of striking so I BF him @4pm, 7pm, 3am and I try @6am before I leave for work but he isnt hungry so i express in the morning. Im going to express once a day @ work and then I have some stock in the freezer to give.. Sometimes he still refuses and then I just give him a bottle! He is such a fussy eater and only gained 40gr in 2 weeks so I changed bottles to NUK, with the Medela its hard for him like it is to BF so he always moaned! The NUK is easier so Im hoping he is gaining more weight! I took him to the pead and he finally put him on Nexium for his reflux which is why I think I got him back on the boob!

Do all your baba's sleep through? Connor still wakes once a night for a feed around 2 - 3am but cries for his dummy twice a night so Im up @ least 3 times Any tips? Do any of you wake your baby around 10pm for a feed? Im thinking of trying that and maybe he will sleep through?

@Anthea - I understand your pain, expressing is a pain in the bum! Its so time consuming! But I want to exclusively BF until he is 6 months and only give formula and solids then so will persist!

P.S - I heard Bumbo's were really bad for their development so took mine back?

Tazzy and Juwayraj - howz the breastfeeding going? I am saddened to report that Morgan was displaying the same sypmtoms as your babas and is now off the breast - her choice! She still feeds off me first thing in the morning... But thats it... I tried expressing initially but that was frustrating me - as i had a child who was drinking a bottle while i sat and expressed! So i dont express anymore and she just has the one feed in the morning - at least its something! And all this could i had to go back to work and introduce a bottle I feel so rejected. I fed the first one till 9months and was hoping for the same here but oh well...

On another note - both girls have bronchospasms caused by viral infections and have to be nebulised - Morgan with adrenaline and saline, as well as pulmicort and Tristyn with Duolon and Pulmicort - all this in my first week back at wor! Murphy's a right bastard i tell you! Glad to report that they are both doing better! Here's a pic of my sickies! It was Tristyn's first time on a nebuliser - she has been so healthy up until now - and this with starting school in Jan...
