Yoza The fact that she dsnt sleep much during the day cld contribute to her not sleeping at night. That was my problem when he wsnt sleeping well. They supposed to get 5hrs of nap time during the day. Ruru only manages 4 to 41/2 hrs. Since then he is sleeping thru. If they are over tired, they wont sleep well. At he age, till 7 months I think, she's supposed to have a max of 2hr of awake time btwn naps. Whoever takes care of her during the day must encourage her to sleep.
from what Iv read, sleeping thru the night is considered 5 hrs or more. Babies still need to feed at night, its good for them.
So they shld feed & go right back to sleep. If he is feeding every 5 hrs or more after he's slept, he's sleeping thru

I give Themba cereal in the evening around 6, this is in between his 4 and 8 pm bottles. Its usually 2 teaspoons of cereal (before mixing with milk), but I increased it to 3 last evening.

Ladies,

Sorry for sounding a bit stupid, but what exactly is meant by 'sleeping through'? Does it mean sleeping in the evening, and waking up the next morning, or sleeping and waking to feed during the night and immediately going back to sleep after feeding?

I envy all of you whose babies sleep throughout. Imaan wakes at least 3 times a night. What am i doing wrong. I breastfeed her at night although i give her a bottle before she goes to sleep. I would give anything for a full night sleep again hehehehe.

@ Shakira I give Imaan her cereal in the morning and at lunch time too.

aNOTHER SIGN THAT BABY IS REady for solids is when baby is suddenly waking up during the night after sleeping through. Some babies are just ready earlier than others.

Jaqi startes waking up again during the night when she had taht ear infection, but now sleeps through again from 20h30 until 7h00.

yoza - Muneeb is sleeping through. He sleeps in the bed (so much easier for bf) so he just gets resless when he wants to drink, so I know. I'm sure Buhle loved the taste, lol. You knowwhat happend when Yaqeen was 1 month, my daugher, who was 2 at the time put a chip (simba) in his mouth while I turned around to put soap on hs wash cloth to bath him. She was just as scared as I was. Luckily I took it out no problem.

Howmany times do you give your LO's porridge and when?
I'm just giving Muneeb in the morning at 9am. Should I give him at lunch/supper?

Zodwa and lientjie: i have not started my LG on solids as well but my pead told me its good for their development.So four months is fine

I think some babies take time to get used to proper food and some well its easy. My son enjoyed his rice cereal. im also nervous about the constipation. when i introduced buhle to formula i was worried but her tummy quickly settled i now give her 10ml of cooled boiled water.

yesterday siba kissed buhle and his face had mash and gravy buhle enjoyed the taste of food left by his big brother on the mouth.

how is everyone are the babies sleeping well mine does not sleep through and i hear does not sleep much during the day either.
