AFM: took buhle for her 15 month vac my baby is one big baby weighing 14.6ks Buhle is growing so well she is socialite i tell you when she sees kids she wants to play with them

AFM, all well on this side. Except for the fact that they broke into our shop over the weekend!!

Went to visit my PIL in Brits, was nice, and relaxing

Leandi made a peepee in the potty on Thursday evening. I was sooooooo proud!!! Not potty training her or anything, just bought a potty, and she sits on it whenever someone else is on the toilet. Thursday eve i was running the bath water, and she was on her potjie with a book and when she got up, there was a peepee.
I WAS SOOOO PROUD!!! I wanted to bottle that peepee

I usually keep Emex at home, thats what the doctor usually gives for vomiting. And for runny tummy i give her Kaostatex. It doesnt stop the runny tummy, it just binds it, so that its not so much wattery. Then i stop all vitamins immediately as my pead said that the vitamins will feed the virus or bacteria. My pead also advises that you dont STOP the runny tummy because the bug needs to come out. And i start with probiotics immediately. The probiotics will restore the balance between the good bacteria and the bad in the intestines. Same with antibiotics. Antibiotics kill all bacteria, in the intestines also. so you need to give probiotics with antibiotics so he can get the good bacteria back. even up to 10 days after using antibiotics.

I always use Probiflora, and either give it to her mixed with a teaspoon of yogurt, or something else, as long as its cold. otherwise the bacteria die.

I hope this helps, and i hope Ruru is already feeling better!!!!! Good luck, i know its terrible with tummy bug!! its worse than a cold or flu, i find. When Leandi was admitted to hospital the first time with gastro and ear infection, and tonsilitis, i went through a pack of 86 nappies within 48 hours!!!!! Coz the stools were so sour, it burned so you had to change her immediately.

Another tip, after applying the bum cream, you can put some Maizina on. It helps keep baby bottom dry, and it will neutralise the sour.

Saw doctor today & he prescribed antibiotics. He has a tummy bug.
His temp was 42 degrees but my dear boys refuses to drink his meds.
i put them in his bottle which I know he will drink while he sleeps. If I force it down his throat he vomits.

Then paed is like, why did u wait 3 days to come? Two days is enough!!! Like Im being a bad parent or something
I was so irritated thinking if I was in SA I wldnt wait at all!!!! I wld see a doc asap

Ladies, what do u do when LO has the runs in SA? Here they dont give probiotics for kids, they think they useless.
When Ruru has the runs, I just give him lots of rice/rice cereals to constipate him & pedialyte. There is never a point takin him to the doc as there is nothing he will prescribe either than that.
Also when he has a temp they say I must bring him in only if he's had it for 3 days. Today is day 2 so if it dsnt go away by tomorrow, I'll take him to the doc.

Today the aircons were fixed but baby is still sick, vomitting also now. They normally say I must bring him in when he's dying, if he's not dying I must manage at home!! Cant wait till I come back home... one week left

On another note.....
My younger sister is thinking of moving to PTA & taking our nephew with her, she's already looking at schools for him. I think she's taking on a huge responsibilty as she has a 2yr old of her own. But his mother wont take care of him so she feels she dsnt have a choice.
My parents will support her financially esp with his treatment. Im scared for her & proud of her at the same time
Hope the mother dsnt interfere as she might not like the child being too far away from her.

Nothing much from my side besides that & the fact that Im tipsy on & cant sleep (Its 12:55pm here)
