Marilu, You have done everything you could of and more already. Your little girl when she is older will appreciate all the effort you have put in for her especially the first year of her life. I just say, wht more could you have done? You cover her when there is wind and cold. You keep her indoors when it is raining. She has all her meals and formula as she should. YOu keep her clean and her clothes are always clean, so you have done everything. Some children do get sick more often than others, but please dont blame yourself, it doesnt matter if there parents work or not. You are an awesome mommy and M is lucky to have you and Renier as her parents

Justine, it just feels as if I could have done more. My logic tells me that it isn't my fault but my heart feels as if I could have done more. I made an appointment with the speech therapist for Thursday morning and with the new ENT on Monday.

Vision I was in so much shock on Friday that I didn't even ask the lady anything..wether her hearing will improve or wether it's permanent damage. Will make sure to have my list of questions ready for the speech therapist

Cinds I'm with Vision on that one..J looks tall!! I had to laugh this morning..Renier phoned me to tell me that M has a friend at school that is 9months old (starting to walk already) and who is exactly the same length as M..my arme kortgat kindjie

Vision she seems very tall on pics but she's a shorty but some say she is tall for her age (if u know what i mean) her cousin that is 9 months older than her is the same height though.

Marilu, Inside your heart you know you have done everything to try keep M healthy and they do get sick, so please dont blame yourself for anything. It takes a special mom to deal with a sick baby all the time and you have been doing it for a year already, so whatever your family says, you should just ignore them, you are an awesome mom. Only someone in your shoes can really understand how hard it is.
When do you start seeing the speech therepist? If it is going to help her in the long run, go for it. Technology is so great these days that if the therepy doesnt heal it 100%, you will find other means for her. Thinking of both you and Renier and of course little M. Just want to give you a big hug now xxx

Marilu sorry about M!!!!!!!!!! AND it is not your fault... you are doing the best you can for her at this stage of her life. Some children just get sick - Charlene is a stay at home mom and Ange gets sick... illness doesnt disciminate With professional help I am sure all will be good! I can imagine it must have been heartbreaking for you though!

Jip, its a speech therapist. No it's not total loss (thank god!!!!). The lady that did the test said that it's only mild hear loss. M only responded to the high pitched and loud sounds on the lefthand side.
