Awesome Mom

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.


Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.


Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom

Wat n dag! Het vriendin gehad wat hier gekuier het en ons het pannekoek gebak vir haar man….so was lekker besig en met M wat teen haar slap baklei het dit nie baie maklik gegaan nie, haha

This stupid internet at work is more off than on and Telkom obviously doesn't care one bit! Irritating!

Ok..now that I've vented I'm feeling much better :)

Skitter, jou pics is STUNNING! Die foto's lyk asof dit in die een of ander magical plek of iets geneem is..love dit :) En M is baie fotogenies..sy lyk altyd pragtig!

Lizel, ek sal definitief vir my warm klere moet koop..my tone het vandag gevoel asof dit doodgaan van kouete hiehie :) Het tydens lunch mall toe gegaan en kon nie eens EEN paar skoene kry nie!!!!! :angry:

Kiara, my hayfever is hectic too!! I really don't know why we have hayfever this time of the year? Something is seriously wrong with the seasons!

Binks I wish I could go shopping with Renier's bank card..haha..I need clothes :)

Jana, dit gaan definitief beter by die creche. Ek dink sy's nou finaal aangepas by die nuwe klas. EK moet nogsteeds net gaan praat oordat ek dink daar's te veel kinders vir die hoeveelheid oppassers. Wil maar net hulle kant van die saak gaan hoor en wat hul daaraan gaan doen. Renier is nie van plan om gou weer weg van die huis te werk nie. Wel, hy't nie eintlik 'n keuse nie maar hy't gese hy gaan vir hul se hy verkies om in hierdie omgewing te werk, nie gauteng en pretoria nie.

Sumaya, I also love winter (thats if I have the right clothing!!) :) I'll rather wear 3 layers of clothing than sweating because it's hot! Renier dropped M off at the creche this morning and he said she didn't cry..yay!! So cute that Z prefers his thumb rather than water :)

Marijke, ai toggie. Kom ons gee die tande die skuld vir Bianca wat nie wil slaap nie. ALS is die tande se skuld :) Hoop darem jy kry bietjie geslaap vannag!

ok, I HAVE to try and finish the one company's VAT now..my boss is throwing a fit because I haven't finished it yet :)

I think the best would be to upload to youtube and just paste the link here. photobucket also does videos but it doesn't play well

Shame Marijke! When I went home now, I gave Nienke a toilet roll to play with and she kept putting the toilet paper in her mouth. WHY they insist on eating paper, I don't know!

Charlene, ek hoop Ange is ok en raak nie siek nie. Een van my vriendinne hier se baba is nou 7 maande en is nounet met dieselfde tipe ding as wat Ange gehad het, gediagnoseer. Sy het nou haar werk gelos om na hom te kyk. Die pead. het gesê sy mag hom nie eens mall toe vat nie. Hy moet weggehou word van ALLE babas en ander mense af. Shame, ek kry haar baie jammer, sy gaan so cabin fever kry! Miskien moet ek jou mail adres vir haar gee dat sy jou kan kontak? Sal jy omgee? Ek dink sy het baie raad nodig.
