I had a similar one with ym 5yr old, Seth.
I told him to go clean his room.
He dissapeared for about 5 min and then came to me and said - I'm done mommy, can I go play?

So I replied: Did you clean your room?
Seth: Yes.
I replied: Can I go check?
Seth:........NO........

A couple of days ago I told my kids to go clean their rooms. As every day before bed time.

My daughter came to me and said her room was clean, and off course, knowing her, I said no, I can see its not clean(I was not near her room). So automatically a tantrum started. 'How can you see everything' she yelled at me. When she entered her room I said I can see the toys under her bed. What came next made me want to hold my tummy and never stop laughing.
' I cant even see your eyes' a type of question yell at me.....
Ag, it sounded so much better in afrikaans. Some things you just cant translate into another language and keep its fun!
