Children getting hurt at school...URGENT!

Phone the headmistress immediately and go and have a meeting with her (I assume it is a her).

My first suggestion is a meeting only with the headmistress to discuss the issue.

What ever happens at the school - she should at the end of the day know about and holds full responsibility for, so the "buck stops with her."

Before you go to the meeting, write down the circumstances and the path of events as you understand them - because when you are in a meeting regarding your child you can get very harrassed and often start blabbering and forget the issues.

Before you get to the meeting - realise that this meeting is purely to establish what occurred - you just need to establish the facts.

You ideally want to walk away and then think about what you have learnt/understood and schedule a second meeting, say within 3 days, to go in and establish what are the actions/decisions that have come out of that meeting.

Please be aware that in these situations the heresay will drive you in sane, and the longer you leave it the more stories you will hear and the more upset you will get.

Resolve it immediately by going straight to the school - the headmistress - and establishing what occurred, how it occurred, why it was dealt with the way it was, how it can be improved on - and then at the end of the day whether you are happy with that and whether you will continue to leave your child at the school.

When I picked up my son from school on friday, he had a bruised and swollen lip, on investigation it turned out to be more serious than I was told, took him to the dr, who said, too much flesh was missing to give stitches. the area was already infected, and my son is now on antibiotics.

What upsets me is the fact that I was not contacted by the teacher about my son getting hurt, and that she did'nt think it was serious enough to phone me, and that it happenned 10min before I arrived...

Another teacher informs me that my son ran to his teacher crying, and she simply told him to rinse his mouth and turned her back and walked away...and that this incident happenned about an hour and a half before I collected him from school.

Yesterday, another girl in his class tells her mommy, that my son was hit in the face with a fist by another boy, when I ask my son about this he tells me this is the truth, and that the teacher told him to say that he has fallen...it was strange that my son could not stop himself from falling with his hands..?

The teacher is lying about so many things, and I am at a loss as to what to do...
How would you react?
