Wow,I also want my LG to have natural hair.I did her dreadlocks but on the sides and at the back there is no hair and it frustrates me.I am now braiding them and I am using a dreads spray forgot its name and MPL oil. Will try the castor oil and for my hair too.

Thank you Angelique for the well wishes on the VBAC. Am riding this roller coaster till it comes to a stop.

I too have fine natural hair, the oils dont make it limp at all.
You use only a little at a time and if applied to slightly damp hair it has the best results at the oils will trap the moisture and keep the hair from drying.

Mix the watery oils with a more solid oil like coconut oil then leave the mix to set and just use a fingertip on a section of hair.

You can braid your relaxed hair in cornrows or with synthetic hair until enough of your natural hair grows out then you just cut only the ends. Give some resting time between braiding sessions.
Use the natural oils on the hair and you'll see how your hair will grow rich and quickly.

All the best Angelique with the hair.

Hi Bulelwam

Thanks a lot for your advise. Especially about the castor oil as I never knew about that.

I'm seriously considering shaving my relaxed hair and going all natural...just have to build up enough guts to do it.

Although my son's hair is very curly, it is very fine as well so I also can't use products that are too oily on his hair. Just I will have to use the method of "trial & error" to see which works best for Cole's hair.

I really do love his curls so I want them to look their best at all times. Will keep you posted on my "findings".

BTW, I am soo praying for you for a succesful VBAC

All the best Imska. I know the frustrations of having a LG with natural hair. But now, am smiling all the way coz with what I've learned, I've managed to take the pain out of hair care for her. and she has long hair.

This pic I took in April, she was having her hair washed.

Hi Imska,

Tea tree oil for the dry scalp....works wonders.
You can mix Almond oil to your tea tree as this is super for dry skin.

The shea butter is better on the hair.
Also, I melt my shea butter in a warm mixture of coconut oil, castor oil, a little olive and almond oil....you can add Jojoba oil too.
Melt the shea butter a little at a time then leave it to cool and set. Its a great hair moisturizer.

My LG's hair has not looked better with the new regime.

All the best
