It seems to be going better with Nathan, I fetched him early on Monday and was shocked when I got there, my baby was sleeping on the floor, I briefly spoke to the teacher and she said he had just falled asleep with the help of the assistant, this was just before 14h00.
I picked him up and we walked home, he didnt say a word to me and he was a terror when we reached home, his tantrums esculated to a new level and it was as if he took all of his frustration out on his baby sister. My fiance took him in the next day and I collected him again and had a chat to the teacher, she said he was a bit of a problem because he doesnt listen, he doesnt want to stay seated and eat his pappies like the rest of the kids, he also battled to sleep and woke half the class when he decided to play hop scotch over the other tots, they once again has to pat him to sleep, he also identified anyone with available arms and wanted to be picked up all the time, the teacher told me that she needs my help at home and that i must not pick him up at ever demand, also rather have him sit next to me instead of my lap.
I was determined to get him through this and I followed her advice, he was better on Wednesday and the tears are not that severe in the mornings. for the first time in ages he eats all of his food by himself without me having to run around after him trying to feed him.
I just wish that the school had a open day so that I knew what to expect and what the routene is for the year, I only now understand that having a pillow is unhygienic and that sleeping with a bottle is a no - no, this way I could have prepared him in the comfort of his own home for school.
I must say that Im glad I followed through, it is going better and he loves socialising with the other tots.
Good luck to all the other moms, it is the worst feeling leaving your most priceless possession in the hands of a stranger and you are not there to supervise.
