To school or not after move before sibling arrives

Hi Cherikey,
I would get her into a new school as soon as youve moved. Let her settle in before the sibling arrives.
Like Milou said, they are more adaptable than we think.

Hi Cherikey - I moved town with my daughter aged 2.5. I was starting a new job and with no family or friends in the new town I had no choice but to put her into pre-school full-time. I was very stressed about it but really, I think little ones are a lot more adaptable than we realise. The first week was tough getting into a new routine but then it was absolutely fine. I think the sooner you get her into her new routine the better for everyone. It sounds like there will be lots going on in January and getting your daughter into school now will free you up with moving now and in January she will be settled and happy to return to school.

Hi All

So at the end of the month we will be moving to a new town and am very very excited. My LG has been going to the same pre-school since she was 18months and has a DIVINE teacher.

Now i was wondering, do i find a new school for her to go to as soon as we move or keep her home till school starts again next year?

These are some factors coming into play or that concern me:

- Will a new school, town & home be a bit much for a 2.5 yr old all at the same time?
- If i don't start her now & only in Jan, will a new school & new sibling be a bit much all at the same time?
- Starting school as soon we move will help when it comes to unpacking into the new house.
