Hi there
So sorry that I am only seeing this now. I can promise you that you will not make a mistake to place your LB at the Oakdale Montessori School. My son is there and he loves it. Minette and her staff did an excellent job with my son, he has struggled with the seperation at first, Minette allowed him to first play a while at the school to let him see it is ok and then afterwards they gave him alot of TLC for the first few months until he got use to going to school. Throughout the year they just showered him with love and acceptance. The staff are great and they are easy to communicate with. As with any school I have experienced some minor hiccups, but was quickly resolved after speaking to Minette. I hope this will help and that it is not too late....

Hi Flowergirl,

Yes I am in Cape Town, I have already made up my mind that my LB will go to Montessori (if we can find the right one at the right price), and then go to another school as the time comes for him to go to primary school.

I love the Montessori approach, and think it is awesome for them between the age of 3 and 5, that is my personal opinion. I have heard wonderful things of Chameleon Montessori - I'm going to contact them about a Classic Kids program that I am starting.

1st pregnancy - We had a natural birth at home with our midwife. It was a dream come true!

2nd pregnancy - 2012 Miscarriage at 12 weeks (blighted ovum)

3rd pregnancy - 2012 Miscarriage at 7 weeks

4th pregnancy - 2013 Twins Miscarriage at 6 weeks 4 days

3 Sept 2014 - Saw and heard our little heartbeat.

Newbie Mom - are you referring to Oakdale in CPT? I am also looking at sending my little girl to a Montessori school in 2014 when she is 3, but the problem I have is that we do not have Montessori High Schools in CPT at the moment! Hopefully by the time she needs to go yto High School we will have. I am looking at Chameleons Montessori at Nitida in Durbanville - they go up until Grade 7.

I don't know anything about Oakdale Montessori though - sorry :(

The only problem that I have now with the Montessori is that I want to her to stay in a montessori school for primary and high school! However it is a bit pricey...It is going to be a hard for us to put her in a normal school after the amazing experience we have had with montessori...

Hi Newbiemom,

I am afraid I don't know the Oakdale montessori, but my LG is in a montessori school in centurion and I am absolutely ecstatic about the aproach of montessori. Having had my LG in a "traditional" nursery school at first, I couldn't believe the diffence in her development and general wellbeing after we moved her to the montessori school.

Hopefully somebody can share stories about the specific school you are considering.
