Hi GW

Thanks so much!

Unfortunately that is very true... And its a problem that carries on into the primary and high school level. Schooling in this country is a shame, and thats why the private schools are flourishing like they! Mind you, there arent many private afrikaans schools around - probably because the standard hasnt dropped as much in those schools.

Its why we make the sacrifices we do hey

Ahhh.....Anthea, she is an angel! I can see how excited she is!!

I find it so sad that only parents that can afford to pay between R2000 - R4000 per month can have access to good quality education. All the places I saw under R2000 per month was shocking and the children's faces said it all. :(

HI there ladies

So glad to hear everyone is happy with the decisions they made.

AFM - my little one is simply thriving at Midlands Pre-Primary! She is so happy there, and they all impressed at the amount of stuff that she knows for someone who hasnt been to school before. She may be difficult some mornings - like not wanting to get out of bed, but not once since she started school has she said i dont want to go to school! She even asks to go to school at night and on weekends.

I am so relieved that we made the right choice for her!

Attached are some pics of their grandparents day they had on the 15th... She was so chuffed she could show her grandparents around the school. And they too were very impressed with the facilities, and can understand why we chose to move here and put her in this school!

Haley, so glad you came right! Yes, I met Sharron at a time when I thought no one in education actually cares about children and only see it as a means of income. Then I met Sharron and was so relieved that there are still people who are still truly passionate about teaching young children with respect.

@ gloeiwurpie: thank u for suggesting "hidden Gems". The school definitely gets a thumbs up from me :)

We however decided to go with "stepping Stones montessori" , only cause the class is smaller and will suit my lg @ this time. Sharron is wonderful, and took the time to explain a lot to us . She also approves of "stepping stones" since her kids where all taught there.

Now I'm hoping she gets Grade 1 started so we can join at a later stage
Once again , thanks for the referral

Hayley, Sjoe, we have never had tummy bug problems at our school for the year she has been there, only colds and flu. I can imagine that you removed your child, I would have done the same.

The half day class ends at 12:30 at hidden gems.

Hope you find a suitable school!
