wowzers! That is super scary!

Natura has this remedy which is listed for bed wetting: www.natura.co.za/B_PKidB_Enur.asp

A homeopath would be able to make a remedy more specific to your son though but this might help. Can't hurt to try it at least.

Hi Huggles.

Well the Dr did mention that it could be until age 16

He had an incident at nursery school once not too long ago, and I felt so bad for him.
Obviously his classmates teased him.

I was also considering consulting a homeopath.
I had a look at the tissue salts at Dis-Chem as an alternative type of 'medication' as those are all 100% natural.

I was knocked for a 6 in the docs rooms listening to him go on about the tab.
And the most shocking fact is this: In the USA it has been banned - Why?? cos a child died whilst on it. Apparently once the pill is popped at night, the child is not allowed to have ANY liquids as this cud have fatal reaction... Can u EVA!!!

We haven't had this problem (yet) as my son is still young, but I was googling night "potty training" a while ago and came across a number of websites that say it's entirely normal for kids to still wet the bed regularly as old as 5 years old. I know you said your son is 6 so he is over that "limit", but not by much. Maybe it will just click into place soon. I did read it's a development in the brain that needs to take place and until that has happened nothing you do will help to "train" them to not wet the bed. This development happens at different ages depending on the child.

It really is scary the types of meds doctors dish out to kids.

Have you perhaps tried a homeopath? Sometimes they might be able to help with a more natural remedy.

Hi There Moms...

My son is 6, starting Gr 1 next year, but wets his bed.

We cut out his liquid intake from 6pm in the evenings and send him to the toilet often before bedtime, and yet he still has 'accidents' as he calls them.

We took him to a Urologist on 19th August and his bladder and kidneys r 100% perfect.
Urologist then advised us that there r 2 tabs on the market prescribed for Nocturnal Enuresis which is what my son 'has'.

Dr prescribed Tofranil - OMW.. Its an anti-depressant which helps to relax the bladder, and also lightens the sleep pattern of the child as he claims that cos my son is in such a deep deep sleep, he cannot feel, or the urge or pressure on his bladder doesn't break his sleep so he can do a toilet visit.

Hubby and I have decided not to give him this tablet as the side-effects I feel for a 6yr old is just too hectic AND to put a 6 yr child on a anti-depressant is uncalled for.

Are there any other moms on the group who had kids with nocturnal enuresis?

Hope someone can share their experiences with me.

Thnx

Joy
