What did your labour pains/contractions feel like?

Oh my daughter was present at the labour &birth!!NOT the lovemaking though...as it was 11pm anyway.....
She joined me in the pool when she woke around 3am - hubby &I were smooching in btwn surges... I was singing to my favourite songs...then child fell asleep on couch next to pool only to be woken by my primal pushing sounds(which lasted about 15mins) Made so much noise - even woke my neighbours at 5:30!!
My daughter's been exposed to births sine the age of 2 when Ii qualified as a doula. To her natural birth is a part of daily life that should not be feared. The preparation of the birth was also a good opportunity to talk to her about how babies are made etc...She's already set on a homebirth herself oneday!!

Sarah oh how I wish I had asked this questions before I had my LB! Mine started out as the mildest of stomach pains in my lower abdomen – to mild to be described as period pains. It didn’t even cross my mind that they were the start of my contractions. The next symptom was the sudden urge to empty my bowel – and nothing happening. Then being hit with a period like cramp of an intensity I can’t even describe. So just multiple a period cramp by a few thousand. Labour for me was just this uncontrollable urge to push. Ended up having a Caesar though so that’s all I remember about that.

Jols my DH doesnt want to come near me NOW in case his son hears anything in utero so forget about delivery time!!

Sounds like hypno birthing to me.........but hypno birthing or not I don't think hubby will be bringing anything near my vagina area when baby is about to come out there!
