What did your labour pains/contractions feel like?

Early labour contractions felt like period cramps for me that gradually became stronger. I don't have words to explain the active labour contractions, I'm afraid LOL...hmm, maybe "hectic"

I was just wondering I know everyone experiences pain in general and labour differently, but just wondering what your contractions felt like if you can remember and if there is a way to describe them? Especially early labour contractions.
