Hey Jelly - damn girl I have so been on same page as you this whole week. Look my Dr gave me some sleeping pills and I must take half tonight. Will come on line later when I have them (they are at home) and will tell you the name in case you want to ask your Gynae. They are safe!

Hey Girly,

Thanks for the thoughts but can't do the 'E' word because of the ruptured membrane. :(

Seeing Gynea on the 5th so will ask him then.

I've heard that they can give you antihistamine tablets instead of sleeping tablets?
Not sure about 3rd trimester though.
Have you spoken to your doctor? Sometimes nothing else works!

Pegasus also has a homeopathic range for sleep aid.

Otherwise, best get him to book you off work for a few days so that you can recover a bit otherwise it might just get worse the more tired you are.

And what about the awful E word? Exercise? Maybe 20mins in the early evening will assist with oxygen flow and the dreams will come?

You can absolutely take rescue tablets jellybaby. I took them right through my pregnancy and while breastfeeding. They won't cause any harm. Speak to the pharmacist.

Thanks Kristen.

I also forgot to mention that I stop drinking anything after 6pm in the hopes that I won't get up to pee so much. All that happens is that each time I wake up, I wake with a terrible thirst! LOL one never wins :)

I am an insomniac at the best of times and suffered terribly during pregnancy so I totally understand. The only thing that helped were rescue remedy tablets. The drops have alcohol in them so I took the tablets rather. I also worried about how I would look after baby but I promise you, you will find the energy somewhere. Just not being pregnant anymore helps so much. Try and take your leave a bit earlier so that you can get some rest. Ask your gynae to book you off bit earlier and then maybe you can take it as sick leave if you still have left. A warm bath before bed with something lavender in it also helps. Be careful of camomile while pregnant because it can cause uterine cramping. I feel for you xxx

Thanks everyone for the ideas. will be trying them all - ANYTHING for a good sleep - I think I would feel better after even a good 2/3 hour sleep but never managed more than 1 hour.

Sal, that sounds like a plan at this stage I am so desperate.

I called the Gynea, I am not allowed Rescue Drops or Sleeping tablets (he did give me some in the second trimester) :( So I am going to try all your ideas and hope that one way or another I will get some sleep. Just hope that when my little monkey arrives my insomnia will go away. (i know i will be doing pj patrol but that is sounding divine at this point because somewhere along the line I would actually be sleeping)
