Hey Jelly, long time no hear.
Shame hun, your insomnia sounds terrible.
I know this going to sound bad BUT have you tried half a glass of wine. It works for me, relaxes me totally and I sleep like a baby.
good luck.

I had the exact same problem with my last pregnancy - it started around
+20 weeks, and it went until the day I gave birth.

I have no idea what happened, or why, but I also fell into a coma, then at some point - usually around 2am - would wake up and that would be me. Of course around 6:05 I would suddely realise I was exhausted, but the it was time for everyone to get up.

I was a walking corpse for a few months. I used to try to have afternoon lie downs on a Saturday and Sunday to recoup. Some days it was so bad, I would go home in the afternoon for a sleep as I was totally useless and could not sustain a conversation, let alone function.

It is such a strange thing - never found a solution though - sorry.

I have a letter from my pdoc to say I am insane, so tread lightly with me, some days I can be a total bitch. I'm lying. Most days I am a total bitch.

I abhor smiley face icons. Just saying.

Hey Jellybaby - I can totally relate!! When I was about 33/34 weeks pregnant I developed insomnia - I was up at all hours of the morning - whether it was to pee, or because I couldn't find a comfy position, etc - I just couldn't get a good nights sleep! I tried a lot of different things and the only thing that really helped was a nice warm bath and a small glass of warm milk juuuuuuuust before bedtime, which I tried to push as late as possible. I also used rescue drops, which I was told was ok for me to use during pregnancy! Once or twice I even moved my bed to the lounge and slept infront of the tv on the couch! I'd end up falling asleep a little easier than I did in bed! Sorry I couldn't be of more help - good luck!!

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Jelly have you spoken to your gynae about this? I know it's not ideal but when I was pregnant with my daughter 8 years ago and going through a divorce my gynae put me onto sleeping tablets that were safe in pregnancy. I can't remember the name now but he definately did. I was so worried about their safety but he assured me they were safe. I used them for about 2 weeks and then didn't need them again.

jellybaby not sure what to say. The stressing about sleep also doesnt help hey. Maybe you should chat to Nefertiti about getting the hypnobirthing products. I know that clearing your mind helps and I am sure that will help you.

Please help me.... I am so so tired that I actually can not cope anymore. I can only get to bed around 10:30pm / 11:00pm wake up every hour to go wee (then it takes me about 20min to fall asleep again, then wake up again 40 min later) till about 3am then I am awake till that night around 10:30pm / 11:00pm and the cycle starts all over again.

I am 33 weeks pregnant and I am dying to get just a little sleep. I have tried sleeping in different positions, tried warm milk with honey, tried chamomile tea. Have been told that I cannot take any medication at this point till baby is born. At this rate I am going to be too tired to look after my baby. Please I need sleep (I am still working and will only be going on ML at the end of May) I am not coping at work due to lack of sleep.

One on the way
