Hello every one.

Esmari, sorry about the MS. We all know how it feels. It just ruins your happy moment. but hang in there it will pass. Promise...

@ Karienh, yes they say there isn't much you can do it's all about genetics but don't let that stop you from trying. My mom, both my sisters, ALL my friends who have babies never got stretchmarks!!!! Incredible i know. But one thing they all said the minute i told them about the pregnancy was start using that Bio-oil and i mean for your whole body, cause you never know where your skin is gonna stretch the most!

I also bought the palmer's coco-butter stretchmarks reduction cream, from dis-chem, there's a prevention one as well but it was R10 more expensive than the other and smaller i figured i should draw the line somewhere! They all have the same ingredients anyway.

And yes a friend of mine used, olive oil from clicks i think when she was pregnant, together with the bio-oil. I hear Tea tree oil, also works wonders but it's like R60 for a 10ml bottle.

I'm also a first time mom, hence I'm also panicky but, i figure we shouldn't just leave it to fate, but at the same time don't go buying EVERYTHING! Chances are they all work the same anyway!

If nothing else, my skin doesn't feel so itchy when I've rubbed the bio-oil on it :cheer:

@Natasha, The first few weeks are a roller-coaster ride. One minute, you feel fine and peaceful, the next you feel a bit funny. And at worst you feel like killing someone for no reason!!! LOL!
The MS will come, but i hope for your sake, you are one of the lucky few who never get to experience it...

Phew!!! That was a long one!

Enjoy your day guys...

Morning all

Karienh, ms still there, but better. Dh brings me marmite toast in bed. It helps eating before I get up.
Regarding strechmarks. I have some bad news. They say you cant prevent. Its in our genes. You can however help that its not that bad! Something like that. I look like a strechmark factory! And I used stuff. Both bio oil and he is good. My mil and sil believes in olive oil. Mil used those you buy at pharmacy. And sil regular cooking olive oil. Ps, mil has 10 children, no strechmarks.

Good morning,

Everyone's been so quiet.

How's you ms Esmari?

Tanasha, it will come. Those first weeks of pregnancy is weird because you know something amazing is happening in your body, but you have nothing to show for it. I couldn't wait for my ms to start!

I've got a question about stretch mark lotions - what are you all using? And for those who've been pregnant before, what do you think works best?

I've been using bio-oil and it makes my skin feel great, but the I got a sample of Happy Event lotion and I love the smell and the fact that it's a lotion and not an oil.

Any recommendations?

Cherise born 20 April 2011, mommy's little angel.
