Don't you love it when they argue with you.

Me: oh a yellow flower
Dylan: No red
Me: no Dylan it is yellow
Dylan: No red
Me: whatever

Oh dear now I know where teenagers get the word whatever.

I love the word debating - Tristan and I seem to have those. Some I win and some I lose. This morning he didn't want to get out the car at school - no time for debating!!! I most times stay calm - but sometimes we just have to admit defeat!

We don't have tantrums (tried once when he was one but never did it again). But what we do have is huge DEBATES on why something must be done this way... or why not this or nagging "please, please, pleeeease Mommy..... please". He also sometimes gets a little glimmer in his eye as he is about to do something he KNOWS he is not allowed to do. lol In a few months he will be three though... can't believe how time flies.

Very trying age... but also an awesome age.

I can imagine how conflicting it must be for them... they are getting independant but they are not sure where the boundaries lie in their independance so they test all of the boundaries as often as possible.

Vix I couldn't agree more. Tantrums aside, the interaction with them is priceless and it is so incredible to see these little people evolve. x

I really love this age, I've really been enjoying my boy so much more even from 18m but you're sooooooo right about the tantrums and the ATTITUDE sucks!

Yip like little Jeckle and Hydes.

Apparently the short frustrating phases allow them to deal with pressure, change etc allowing the goodness to develop. Very
important. Good to know but not helpful in a shopping centre. x

Anyone else finding their 2 year olds can be oh so charming at times...and right little monsters a little while later!!!heehee

I love the role of mother more with everyday! But dislike 2 year old tantrums - think the terrible twos are preparation for the teenage years... they want it their way - but do not have the vocabulary to express their wants and needs to us!!!

2yr old - waaa...nooooo....scream and shout!!
teenager - huh....whatever...scream and shout!!
