DBN mums - UIF queries

oh by the way in order to be paid u need to bring back the UI-2.3 make sure the it is filled by ur gynae by the date they give u when u submitt all the forms

@ shols the forms are suppose to be accepted at any DOL it just that when i went to central the guy told me that i have to go to the DOL close to home, i started mines as soon as i applied for my martenity leave at work bt u can only submit it once u are on maternity leave as i was turned back when i submitted mine b4 my maternity leave and told to come back when i have stop working..

Mom2010, please tell me, I live closer to the central branch (town) can i still go to the Pinetown or Verulum branch - will it be accepted there or will they turn me away?
I also wanted to know when u do this UIF application - when shud i start the procedure and do I have to physically go there every month to collect or can someone go on my behalf?

oh and by the way u can get all the forms in their website...

hi shols,i did mine in dbn (town)but since i had used my home address which was uMlazi i had to fill the forms and take them to a DOL close to Umlazi which is the one in Prospecton there is no hassle really cos they do attend the pregnant ladies first just do make sure everything is filled correctly so as to make the whole procedure quick..

I did my UIF application in Pretoria and had no hassles at all. I was down in Durban over Christmas and went to the Pinetown branch to collect my 2nd payment. I was in there for 5 minutes MAX. I had my baby with me so the kind gentleman pushed me to the front of the queue. The queue at the Pinetown branch for applications was a third of the length of the one I sat in in Pretoria and that was 3 hrs for me, so if you plan on an hour or 2 wait then its not too bad if you take a book.

When doing your application make sure your paperwork is filled in correctly. You sit in the queue, hand in you paperwork and they tell you when to return to collect (you have to hand in your form, get a new one and they deposit into your bank account). It really is painless

Can any DBN mums shed some light on the whole UIF procedure? I would like to know if i can go to any centre to register for my UIF, how are the ques in the different centres, etc?

I would like to do my UIF myself so im alittle concerned abt a few things.
