Hi,

I also feel pregnant on the Pill and then got the Marina last year. No pain, no hassles and my period has completely dissapeared (this is obviously deifferent for every person).

I love the marina and will prob stay on it for the rest of my life (I'm 28 and 1 child is enough).

xoxo

I also had a sterilisation with my last ceasder (tubes also cut, not tied) And I have to say I also found it really painful and took a lot longer to recover from my ceaser than my previous one. My cycles are also extremely heavy.

My friend had her tubes tied and well now she has baby number 4. When they put the clamps on, one was obviously not put on properly and left room for "travel"

I also had the loop for many years and found it great, my suggestion is if you are really sure that you dont want anymore children then yest sterilisation, but you have to be very sure, once you have it done, there is no going back !!

hi,

i just wana put my 2 cents in here.

i had a sterilisation done in july after csec.
they apparently cut pieces out either side of my fallopian tubes, aswell as tying them.

im not gonna lie it was excruciatingly painful. i could not stand up it fell as though everything was stiff. i have had two other csecs and never experienced pain like this.

its now 6 months later.. i still get my period but i am fine.. no pain etc.. the first couple of periods afterwards were very heavy... but are okay now. good luck in your choice.

Hi there

Sad that your gynae couldn't give you all the info you need!

Okay sterlisation needs to be done in a theatre so best to do it at the same time as a c section or with another op later on. This just blocks or cuts the fallopean tube so you will still ovulate but the egg will not be able to be fertilised. You will still get your period etc.

Mirena is a great option. Long term and can be placed at your 6 weeks checkup. It releases hormones and usually the patient will no longer have periods, but it can cause bleeding in other patient if not place right. Having had cervical cancer cells removed, I am not sure if you can use this option.

To remove the chicken box I assume you mean hysterectomy. That is seriously drastic. I am not sure a gynae will remove your uterus because you don't want your period. These days they only really do it if you bleed really heavily or have serious fibroids or have a cancer threat.

You would still keep your ovaries so the pcos may still be an issue but you won't have your periods anymore. It may cause other issues though like pelvic support issues etc.

There is another option and that is a vasectomy for your husband for contraception.

Hi Ladies.
I need some advice please. I am having my second baby in 2 years in 3 weeks time. I am 35 years old and we have decided not to have more kids as my hubby is 38 as well (getting old!!!). I now have to decide if I want to close the factory permanently or semi-permanently. My main reasons are : I have had Cervical Cancer cells removed, PCOS and very heavy infrequent periods. DON’T WANT PERIODS!! Got pregnant with the Pill so that is not an option either.
Went to doctor today and did not really get very good answers as to the advantages/disadvantages or options that are available for me.
Do I go for a Sterilization ( and what does this entail)
Do I go for the Marina Loop
Do I remove the chicken box
Or what else is available?
Help please!!!
