Hi Hapi

I totally LIVED in leggings.. that was my best buy ever. I wore throughout my preggie and still wear them now (3 months later). I got the really stretchy ones with the "stirrups" from edgars. I personally thought it was a good way to be stylish as i could dress them up or down.. was preggies in winter too so would wear boots over and those waterfall cardis...

I bought most of my maternity wear from www.tummiesmaternity.co.za There clothes were great and their service fantastic. They now have a stunning 6in 1 top so if you want to save money that may be an option. You can use it 6 different ways.

Congrats Hapi!!

I was not able to afford much in the way of maternity wear and was loathe to spend R350.00 on something I was going to wear for a short period of time.

I bought 1 pair of maternity jeans and 1 pair of maternity black pants, 1 black shirt and 1 black spagetti strap shirt - all 4 items from Woolies.

I then opted to bulk my wardrobe up with things from Ackermans.

Often thier cuts are so bad, that they can actually fit a pregnant person even though they are designed for a not pregnant person. I bought some loose shirts, some jeans with strange waist bands that could slide under my bump.

And some loose jersey things, and some stretch pants.

I also trolled Edgards and bought some of thier maternity stuff on sale, just odds and ends.

I also would stop and look at maternity gear on sale really early in the year, because every now and then you find a gem at a good discount.

I personally found wearing stretch-ribbed black pants to work became almost a uniform and then I would just alter the shirt or jersey on top.

I would say buy a couple of longer cheaper tops and get the yummy mummy tummy. Cardigans are also a good idea for a while :)

I have not seen any winter stuff out as yet, but when you have to try www.absolutematernitywear.co.za - the downside is that sizing may be a bit iffy coz you don't try it on.

So glad you and the twins are well.
