Any moms who fell pregnant with the mirena?

Nope, I don't know what happened to Aribeth. But do take a home pregancy test or speak to your doctor.

What was the outcome of Aribeth's situation? Does anybody know?

Tazzy, all contraceptives have side-effects, and all contaceptives are not 100% succesful in preventing a pregnancy (even vasectomies!).

Just make sure you know all the risks and side-effects involved like with any other medication.

Okay - I'm supposed to have the mirena fitted next week but after reading these comments I'm not so sure anymore.
I think a vasectomy sounds like a better idea!

Aribeth, go do a test. I have had 2 friends that this has happened to. One with a successful pregnancy but the other with an ectopic that ended much like Gloeiwurmpies.

Please do a test..... my whole situatition started with spotting (and I also had tender breasts). It took only 3 days since I started spotting before the whole situation turned into a life threatening drama.

Do go to the Emergency rooms if you are having lower abdominal pain. Not trying to scare you, just be aware of the risks of the mirena.

I have heard of other women falling pregnant with the mirena, it does happen, all contraceptives are not 100% safe.
