Actually all the side effects that they name in the abstract of the article can happen when you have vaginal delivery aswell. I know to many people who have had c-sections with NO complications to worry that there will be any. Also the only person I know who gave birth naturally, her child is the only one out of all the people I know that have problems. He was the only one born naturally. My husband has allergies and had childhood asthma, he was born naturally and his brother that was born by C-section has NO PROBLEMS!!!!! Why do some people go on and on about how bad c-sections are?? Me, my brother and my sister was born via C-section and that was in the good old days, and neither one of us has any allergies or bad immune systems or asthma or whatever else they say c-section babies get!!
I am sorry, but a c-section is MUCH better that a traumatic natural birth!!! And no one can gaurentee a problem free natural birth with NO TEARS?? If the technology is there, why not use it.
Not wanting to open a can of worms or a debate of womens choices.
I do feel however encouraged to have a caesar without full awareness (or being informed) of the potential side effects for them, or their baby, or that the mortality rate is 3 times higher than with a natural birth.
Whilst it is often a life saving operation in the case of elective c-sections it is not always an easier option.
