Hi Dinky,

Just take things easy and try to keep yourself relaxed. Visualize a healthy baby and pregnancy. Stress can have a negative impact on the baby, so try to accept the situation and relax about it.

Hope you have a great and healthy pregnancy!

Morning ladies,

Thank you all for your input. You have put my mind at ease.

I am trying to take it day by day and not do anything too strenuous. Unfortunately I have resigned so I can't take time off but I am taking it easy here for the next two weeks.

Thanks once again. xxx

My first pregnancy I had no bleeding, but resulted in a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks.
I had bleeding around 6 - 8 weeks with my 2nd pregnancy.
Also went for countless blood tests to confirm all was okay. And it was also around this time of year and doc was away on vacation so couldn't see him until the new year!
He tested my progesterone which was somewhere around 70 and didnt feel the need for progesterone. This is a grey area where there is no certainty that a progesterone supplement can successfully do the job of natural progesterone.

Anyway, I didnt bleed again in the pregnancy.

But if it carries on into 2nd trimester, they would have to investigate further.
The gynae will be able to tell by your next scan if you have a low lying placenta which can cause bleeding.
Alternatively they may have to check for fibroids down the line and treat you as higher risk.

For now just take it easy!!! Try work from home till the end of the year if you can, by the time you come back you'll be past 9 weeks. Every time you feel yourself tensing, or pushing yourself too hard, take a moment to relax and catch your breath.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

I also have bleeding usually at around 5-6 weeks. WIth me it starts off as just blood and then gets clotty but goes away in a day or 2 after taking the progestrone supplement. With my daughter and this pregnancy I started bleeding at 6 weeks so I was on utrogestan from 6 weeks until 14weeks. My dosage was higher though, I had to take 200mg in the morning and evening. I have low progestrone so my doctor puts me on it for that period. I had a miscarriage before at 6w6d due to that. I am 15weeks now.

Dinky

I am now 34 weeks pregnant, and also bled on and off during my pregnancy. Bled from about 6 weeks till just before 12 weeks. Used Utrogestan for this whole period as well. Then it started at 20 weeks again for about 2 weeks, was on Utrogestan again.
Mine was also clotty!
I still have a clotty discharge daily, although not as big anymore, and it's yellowish.
My Gynae couldn't find any reason for the above.

It scared the hell out of me, this is my third child, and have not experienced any of this with the previous 2 pregnancies! Just shows every pregnancy is differant!

Hope this helps you a bit!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Hi Ladies,

I am hoping someone has had experience with this and can put my mind at ease. I am just over 6weeks pregnant and started bleeding lightly last Tuesday, it was barely enough to warrant using a liner. I phoned my doc first thing on Wed morning and she sent me for follow up bloods. When she got the results she said my levels were looking good (12 000 odd) and not to worry unless experienced any pain. I continued to bleed lightly with Saturday and Sunday being the worst even though I tried to take it easy. I went for another blood test on Monday morning coz I knew my doctor would send me anyway. I then phoned her to tell her I had gone for the bloods and she said I should come in. She did an internal scan and saw a fetal pole measuring 6w3d (if I recall correctly) my bloods were up to 32 000 odd and she said everything was looking fine. She put me on progesterone (Utrogestan 100mg orally twice a day) until 12w which I started on Monday evening. On Tuesday morning I passed a fairly big clot (approx 3cm x 1cm) that looked a bit like uncooked liver (sorry for tmi) and the bleeding has slowed since then although I am still bleeding lightly. I have a follow up appointment on the 19th of December to see if everything is progressing normally.

How long would it take for the progesterone to help stop the bleeding? What could be the cause of that clot? When can I start exercising again?

Thanks as always!
