MOst of the gynae's at VPH are great -
Dr's Dumbrill, Tam-Tam, Jackie Searle, Peter Roos. Hinz is so-so....

I am currently with Dr Dumbrill and he is a gem. I am really happy with him, only pain in the butt is that he has a cash practice and it puts a bit of a crimp in my budget. I also met Jacky Searle (last night in fact)-had severe cramps and thought might be early labour so went in for fetal monitoring and she was brilliant.

I have had an absolutely great experience, by defaukt, with Dr Searle.
I am in Gauteng, and had to come to CT for my dad´s funeral. I then unexpectedly went into labor 2 weeks before my due date, and the night before we were supposed to drive back to Gauteng!
Dr Searle was on call that night, and I thank my lucky stars. She made me feel so comfortable, and calm, even though she didn´t even have time to put on gloves to deliver Alex (!)
When I move back to CT, I will defn use her.

SHE'S AWESOME!!!!!
As a doula for the past 8+yrs I've worked had loads of clients with a lot of the gynae's around - She is a breath of fresh air - she's only recently been in pvt practice as she was formerly at Mowbray.
I would HIGHLY recommend her!!

I'm looking at gynae's at Vincent Pallotti Hosp and have read about Dr's Searle, Dumbrill and Hinz, but I can't find any information on Dr Matebese. Does anyone have experience with her...good or bad? Does she charge medical aid rates?
