I've had the Mirena a year now, and have spotted every 2nd or 3rd week, had heavy periods, been totally irregualr, had pains i never had, mood swings, weight gain, loss of hair, and more I cant think of right now.
I saw the dr again at the end of last year, and all that kept me from having it removed was because it cost me R2800 or however much. He said it can take up to a year for my body to stabilise. Its a year now, and I'm still not impressed. I guess its just not working for me.
Anyone else like me? I'm thinking of having it taken out. Can it be taken out in the rooms, or do i have to have it removed in theatre? Its going to cost me a co-payment of R450, so it hasnt been a cheap alternative. typical, our medical aid covers the mirena from this year. I'm not looking forward to going back onto the pill, but at least then I kind of have my life back. I hope?
